Nancy L. Wilson, MA

 

Ms. Wilson is an assistant professor in both the geriatrics section of the internal medicine department at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston and Baylor’s Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy.  She is assistant director of program development  for the Huffington Center on Aging and associate director of the Texas Consortium of Geriatric Education Centers, both at BCM.  Ms. Wilson is also a clinical instructor of gerontology at the University of Texas School of Nursing in Houston.  Ms. Wilson received her MA in social service administration from the University of Chicago.  She is studying for her PhD in behavioral sciences at the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston. 

Active in the professional community, Ms. Wilson is a member of the American Society on Aging, the Gerontological Society of America, and the National Association of Social Workers.   The recipient of several awards for community service, Ms. Wilson is a board member of the Greater Houston Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.  She is a member of the professional advisory council of the Sheltering Arms Day Center for Dementia. 

Ms. Wilson is author or coauthor of numerous academic papers and more than 31 book chapters and journal articles.  She has made more than 100 presentations on topics including case management for frail elders, interdisciplinary teamwork, and ethics and decision-making.
