Whereas the Hon. Henry Bonilla has long represented his district and his country with distinguished service; and

Whereas the Hon. Henry Bonilla secured funding for the HRSA Geriatric Education Center Program during the FY ’98 budgetary process resulting in HR 2264 funding $293.8 million for health professions; and

Whereas the Hon. Henry Bonilla has demonstrated his understanding of the importance of geriatric education to improve the health of the nation’s 34,000,000 seniors;

Therefore, the National Association of Geriatric Education Centers gratefully acknowledges the vital role Rep. Bonilla played in maintaining a strong national network of GECs for all older Americans.
