The Honorable Harry Reid, U.S. Senator, The State of Nevada
| Whereas Senator Harry Reid, the man from Searchlight, Nevada who was
destined for the bright lights of national politics, has served Nevadans young and old
since 1968 and his fellow countrymen with distinguished service in the U.S. Senate since
1986; and Whereas Senator Harry Reid has supported additional funding to ensure an adequate supply of well trained health professionals to serve all Americans; and Whereas Senator Harry Reid has demonstrated his understanding of the importance of geriatric education to improve the health of the nation's 34,000,000 seniors; Therefore, the University of Nevada and the National Association of Geriatric Education Centers gratefully acknowledge the vital role Senator Reid has played in maintaining a strong national network of GECs for all older Americans, especially those from the Silver State.
