Centenarian - Mildred Horton
"1896 - 1996"

Many of you will remember Miss Mildred Horton, the centenarian of extraordinary vitality, who was interviewed by Gene Cohen, M.D., Director of the Center for Aging Health and Humanities, George Washington University, who was a visiting professor to the Huffington Center on Aging in October 1995. Dr. Cohen's interview with Miss Horton was the highlight of a program put on by the Huffington Center on Aging entitled, "Creative Minds and Successful Aging,".

The audience was transfixed by the perceptive responses Miss Horton made to Dr. Cohen's questions and her wide ranging interests in current events, both near and far from her, including her concern for the people caught in the war in Bosnia.
