Lynn C. Yeoman

yeoman.jpg (5832 bytes)Son of a Methodist minister in northern Illinois, Dr. Lynn C. Yeoman took his baccalaureate degree in chemistry at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. and received his doctorate in biochemistry from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship in Cancer Biology at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Yeoman joined the faculty and rose to the rank of Full Professor in 1984.

 During his career as a research scientist and educator he has authored 160 publications, invited papers, review articles and chapters in books. He served as the Associate Director for Cell and Molecular Biology in the Oncology Drug Discovery Program at Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. in Wallingford, Conn. A Faculty Associate of Baylor's Huffington Center on Aging since 1995, he is also a Professor of Pharmacology and Medicine. In addition, Dr. Yeoman is Director of the College’s Integrated Problem Solving (IPS) course and the Curriculum Database Program, and Executive Director of the College’s Education Resource Center. Dr. Yeoman currently serves as Chairman of the CATCHUM Project’s Problem-based Learning Task Force, a National Cancer Institute (NCI) funded program in cancer prevention education at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, and Chairman of the United States Pharmacopeia’s (USP’s) Committee of Experts on Biotechnology and Natural Therapeutics.

 Dr. Yeoman is a founding member of the Board of the Clinical Pharmacology Consortium of the Texas Medical Center and a member of the Board of Advisors of ProteEx, Inc., a proteomics biotechnology corporation located in The Woodlands, Texas. In his role as Director of the College’s Integrated Problem Solving course, taught to all first and second year medical students, he serves as an advocate for education and training issues pertinent to aging. Dr. Yeoman is listed in numerous biographical publications, including Who’s Who in the World.

 He has two daughters and a son. Dr. Yeoman serves as Chapel Organist at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Houston where he plays weekly communion and healing services.
